Marinated Filet Mignon

Ingredients

  • 4 filets mignon (14-ounce size)
  • 6 mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 slices bacon, quartered
  • Salt and pepper
  • Marinade: 1 tsp crushed black peppercorns, 3 bay leaves, 1/2 tsp allspice, 5 cloves, brandy, burgundy wine, and vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Make two slits in each filet, about 3" long and not quite to the underside.
  2. Stuff the slits with sliced mushrooms, bacon pieces, salt, and pepper.
  3. Prepare the marinade by combining peppercorns, bay leaves, allspice, cloves, brandy, burgundy, and vegetable oil in a shallow dish.
  4. Place filets in the marinade and refrigerate for 24 hours or more.
  5. Drain filets and grill to desired doneness.
