Marinated Filet Mignon
Ingredients
- 4 filets mignon (14-ounce size)
- 6 mushrooms, sliced
- 2 slices bacon, quartered
- Salt and pepper
- Marinade: 1 tsp crushed black peppercorns, 3 bay leaves, 1/2 tsp allspice, 5 cloves, brandy, burgundy wine, and vegetable oil
Instructions
- Make two slits in each filet, about 3" long and not quite to the underside.
- Stuff the slits with sliced mushrooms, bacon pieces, salt, and pepper.
- Prepare the marinade by combining peppercorns, bay leaves, allspice, cloves, brandy, burgundy, and vegetable oil in a shallow dish.
- Place filets in the marinade and refrigerate for 24 hours or more.
- Drain filets and grill to desired doneness.
